This Valentine’s Day, NU-HOPE is joining with volunteers throughout the community to brighten the lives of seniors! Volunteers from throughout the community are joining together to make handmade cards that are being delivered to homebound seniors. The cards are filled with heartwarming messages of love and appreciation.
Isolation, loneliness, and depression can have serious consequences, impacting both mental and physical health. The simple act of reaching out and letting seniors know that they are important to our community can have an incredible affect.
The ‘Send Love to Homebound Seniors’ project is part of the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program that encourages nonprofit organizations throughout the nation to create family-oriented volunteer projects that benefit our community. Participants in the project include volunteers from local businesses, daycares and classrooms, senior dining sites, and staff and family of NU-HOPE.
Thank you to all for sharing love with those who have given so much to our community!
